The right benefits can attract and retain talent, reduce operating costs, and provide the best healthcare solutions for employees. SSGI helps businesses of any size create custom employee benefits packages. Learn more about our offerings and how we can help you cut costs, not benefits.

What We Offer

SSGI is different from most brokers. We are an extension of your HR team and provide ongoing education and support. Learn more about our benefits offerings and start designing your own package.

Health Insurance

When you’re searching for a business health insurance broker, you want someone with a wide network who can provide different plan options. SSGI has relationships with major insurers, including:

  • Kaiser Permanente

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • Humana

  • Cigna

  • Aetna

  • UnitedHealthcare

  • Trustmark

As a direct HUB agency and a preferred Kaiser broker, we can help you pick a health insurance plan tailored to your unique needs, whether you are a small local business or a nationwide corporation.

The group health insurance brokers at SSGI will walk you through the entire plan selection process. We help you determine what matters most to your employees and their health and wellbeing. Depending on the type of plan you choose, your employees may end up paying different premium or deductible amounts or having more or fewer choices for in-network providers. These differences can be complex. You need a knowledgeable health insurance broker on your side to help you navigate the insurance market.

Vision and Dental Insurance

Some health insurance plans do not provide any coverage for vision or dental care. Although Affordable Care Act medical plans provide pediatric dental and vision for children covered under the age of 19, they do not include any coverage for adults. Employers must consider whether they will offer separate vision and dental benefits.

SSGI is a vision and dental insurance broker that works with a variety of companies such as Metlife and Guardian. We can help you decide whether to offer these benefits and which provider will best suit your needs.

Life Insurance

There are many advantages to providing life insurance as part of your benefits package, but it is an additional cost for employers. Alternatively, employees can purchase coverage on their own.

Our brokers have relationships with Lincoln Financial Group, MetLife, Mutual of Omaha, Principal, and other major insurers. SSGI can help you determine whether life insurance fits in with your goals and needs.

Disability Insurance

You may also consider offering short-term and long-term disability insurance in your benefits package. This ensures your employees will receive a portion of their salary if they get sick or injured and cannot work for a period of time.

Note that employers located in California, Hawaii, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Puerto Rico are required by law to provide disability insurance.

Voluntary Benefits

The main advantage of voluntary benefits is reducing employer costs while still offering coverage employees may need. Employees often receive a discount when purchasing these benefits through an employer. Additionally, these expenses can be deducted through payroll and are often paid for with pre-tax money. With the COVID-19 pandemic, employees are increasingly looking to their employers to provide more voluntary benefits to help protect personal assets.

The cost of these benefits may be paid entirely by employees, or it may be shared by the employer. Some common voluntary benefits include:

  • Vision insurance

  • Dental insurance

  • Accident insurance

  • Personal travel accident insurance

  • Critical illness insurance

  • Hospital indemnity insurance

  • Identity theft protection

  • Life insurance

  • Disability insurance

  • Pet Insurance

  • Legal Protection

Reducing Employee Benefits Costs

Although health insurance costs are fairly standard across the industry, there are many strategies to reduce your overall expenses. These include:

  • Minimizing claims against the account deductible

  • Supplementing with voluntary benefits

  • Analyzing your utilization data to see if you need to change your healthcare plan

A common concern for our clients is how they can save money on healthcare costs while attracting and retaining talent with great benefits. SSGI helps you build a customized package that addresses all of these needs. We look for ways to reduce claims, which keeps your costs as low as possible.
